How the Pandemic Is Reshaping Interior Design

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The pandemic has caused a sea change in how we live, work, and recreate—TWO YEARS  later, here’s how that’s impacted our homes.

The greatest change COVID-19 pandemic has brought about is the way we live in our homes. It has fundamentally transformed our relationship to home.

Last several months, we have been asking designers how the pandemic has reshaped our interiors so far. What are clients prioritizing, and what new trends are emerging as a result? What’s becoming clear is that 2022 has brought a renewed focus on function and flexibility on top of aesthetics as we navigate a new normal.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_empty_space height=”45px”][vc_column_text]

1. Heavy-Duty Home Offices

For many, working from home has gone from a rare perk to a company mandate as traditional offices remain closed. As our Founder, Manjari Sharma says, “Our company has been designing home offices for decades, but who ever thought our clients would actually work there—I mean really, really work there, five days a week, week after week, month after month?”
Previously most clients looking for a home office wanted a casual space to pay bills, check emails, or look up a recipe. Now, home offices are souped up with large work surfaces, comfortable chairs, and expanded storage space to support heavy usage.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”6550″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

2. Remote-Learning Spaces

With school transitioning to Zoom as well, having multiple designated workspaces at home is becoming essential to reduce distraction. Whether it be a room converted to a home office or a remote-learning nook within a larger area, clients need separate workspaces for everyone in the household.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6558″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6563″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space height=”70px”][vc_column_text]

3. A New Focus on the Foyer

Entryways & halls are getting extra attention these days as people become aware of maintaining sanitary areas and clear divisions between outdoors and inside.
These spaces will grow and become much more functional. And the awkward request for a guest to remove their shoes will no longer be awkward…it will just be the accepted norm. So, think comfortable chairs, mats, bins for masks, space for sanitisers etc.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

4. Bringing the outdoors inside

From large windows and sliding doors that bring the outside in, to nature-inspired colors, design that enhances our connection to the environment will be key to boosting mental and physical wellness as we hunker down in our homes. Our designer Shubham Khandelia says For homes to be places of refuge and safety, we should choose colors that promote peace, wellbeing, and this connection to nature as well as textures that are less about display and more about comfort and performance.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”6569″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”6570″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

5. Hotel-Inspired Amenities

Since travel is still largely on hold, homeowners are looking for ways to make home feel like a retreat, prioritizing spa-like bathrooms and places for relaxation that take cues from hospitality design. Think big & stylish bedrooms, fancy dining rooms, gyms, play rooms etc.

6. Creative Partitions

With most of our daily lives confined to the home, the importance of having separate spaces for different activities has created a need for screens, partitions and other dividers to help define spaces for flexible use.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6572″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

7. Multi Use Bonus Rooms

Homeowners are taking advantage of underutilized basements, bedrooms, and garages, recasting them as bonus spaces for working out, watching movies, and other activities that keep the family entertained during a pandemic.

8. Outdoor Entertainment Areas

With restaurants, bars, and other venues becoming tricky to navigate—if not shut down entirely—our homes and backyards have become community hubs for loved ones to hang out at a responsible social distance.

Necessity, as they say, is the mother of invention, and the pandemic’s impact on interior design can be best summed up as a deepened focus on well delineated, adaptable spaces.

It’s forced us all to rethink the importance of home. It was always somewhere we lived, but in recent times we’d lost connection to what it always used to do: sheltered us, protected us. Homes had become possessions to show off, or bases to spend our times elsewhere. That all changed this year. All of this underscores the profound importance of design that’s not just about the surface, but the function and the meaning.”

Decorating ideas for the awkward, empty spaces in your home

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Transform an unused or awkward space in your home into something special

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Every home has that awkward spot – corners, under the stairs, in a corner, end of the hallway, entrances – that one doesn’t quite know what to do with. Leave it bare and it looks like something’s missing or fill it with whatever spare furniture you have lying around and run the risk of a decorating disaster.

These tricky spaces require careful consideration or, in some cases, an expert’s opinion, in order to make the most out of this unused area and transform it into either a practical or decorative feature – or both, if you’re lucky!

From bar carts to bench seats and smart study nooks, here are some clever ways to fill the void in your unfinished home.

First, what are these usual spaces?

  1. UNDER THE STAIRS
  2. HIGH CEILINGS
  3. ENTRANCES
  4. BAY WINDOWS
  5. END OF A HALLWAY

Here are some fun ideas that can not only give your home a beautiful feel, but also create more utility space for your family to enjoy.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

HOME LIBRARY

When stuck for ideas don’t forget a good built in but open bookcase can do wonders – under the staircase or in a corner. Creating a dynamic range of colourful spines and at the same time working extremely well as a sound absorber. A book-laden home always looks very appealing.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”6424″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

INDOOR PLANTS

Indoor plants are a godsend for filling voids in the home. You can pretty much squeeze a plant into any vacant spot – beside your bed, on top of bookshelves and, of course, in empty corners.
And they won’t just fill a space, indoor plants will bring any dead zone to life – trusting you can keep them alive.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

ORNAMENTS AND ARTEFACTS

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”6415″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Another method that works well to fill empty corners are long thin objects that can be casually leaned into the corner. These may include vintage oars or artefacts such as statues, spears and masks. Not your style? How about a styled stack of magazines or books?

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]

STRIKING VIGNETTE

Create a striking display or vignette on a shelving unit or narrow console using books and vessels or everyday items like books, vases and artwork.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

HOME OFFICE

Make use of dead space and set up a home office. All you need is a comfy chair and desk that fits into your nook. Hang shelves above for extra storage.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6448″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6422″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

STATEMENT CHAIR

A rattan cocoon chair is the way to go, if you’re looking to carve out a space to chill in a corner of any room! Spice it up with an Indian-style padded floor mattress and quilted seats, warm wicker floor lamps.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

LIGHTING

Bare spaces are often the perfect location for a tall floor light.

BAR CART

Bar carts are all the rage right now and can be easily tucked into a tight corner or along the blank wall beside your dining table. Not only will a beautifully-styled bar cart amplify your interior, it will also make entertaining a breeze! Did someone say “happy hour”?

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

WINDOWS

Putting in a window where a blank wall would be is a smart design decision, assuming that it doesn’t affect your privacy. Not only will you amplify the natural light in your home, you may be lucky enough to create a beautiful outlook.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6426″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

BENCH SEAT

What to do with that blank wall or unused space under a window? We have two words for you: bench seat. Adding an extra spot to retreat and relax in your home is not something you will regret.

WALL HOOKS

While bare walls can be brought to life with artwork, they can also be turned into a source of storage. Enter, wall hooks. Decorative designs like these timber dots are pretty and practical, providing a handy place to hang bags, coats or whatever you please. This is an especially good idea for entryways.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

HIDEAWAY LAUNDRY

An awkward niche is cleverly transformed into a laundry space, neatly hidden behind folding double doors. Simple cabinetry above the washing machine holds detergent and other essentials, while the floating shelf to one side can be used to stack linen.

Hand Painted Crockery

Does your crockery need an uplift? Plain, boring white ceramic plates and mugs can be transformed into unique statement pieces with a little paint and a lot of ingenuity! Is Your Home Festival ready?

Simple & easy home decor tips for you

When the wind cools, days get shorter, and the chilly evenings invite you to think about celebrations with family & friends, FESTIVE SEASON is here!

It’s that time of the year when you can flaunt those gorgeous aromatic candles, take out your finest silks, and splash color & sparkle to every corner of your dreams and your home.

When it comes to decorating the house for an Indian festival, there are manyways to keep your space looking warm and beautiful every day while providing a joyous ambience for your guests.

This Diwali, we provide you with a list of our most simple festive home décor tips that can make it easy to create a magical vibe indoors.

Placement is everything

While decorating your home for the festive season, it is important to focus on key areas that will instantly attract your guests and make your space lively and inviting.

Start from the entrance of your home. You can either decorate your entrance with quirky wall hangings mounted on the main door or border it with dainty streamers that strike the perfect balance of sophistication and fun. If you are living in a gated community, don’t forget to decorate your balcony with lights to stand out in the building, or better yet, decorate the corridor with your neighbours and light up the entire floor!

It is also a great idea to welcome your guests with traditional kolam designs drawn at the entrance with rice flour or chalk powder. You can add glamour by using colour powder to fill up the designs and placing miniature diyas in the corners.

Make the most of the festive sales

Come October and it rains sales across all the e-commerce stores in India.

Make the most of this opportunity and buy those home accessories you have been eyeing for long. From designer showpieces to that corner decorative, adding some trendy accessories will certainly add life to an otherwise dull room.

Buy a combination of a few small accessories that can be scattered around, along with one or two dramatic pieces that can work as a focal point.

Add colours

Diwali is all about colours and light. To bring in the festive mood, up the colour quotient in most of your dreams. From colourful bedding to decorative cushions, from royal curtains to rugs, replace the neutrals with bright, glittery reds, blues, and greens.

Bring out the old photos and get them nicely framed and place them on empty walls.

Don’t forget the rangoli for some beautiful blend of colours that will brighten up your doorway.

Create dramatic visual impact with designer ceilings

A designer ceiling can create a dramatic visual impact. From an array of designer ceilings to crazy chandeliers, you can have a festive makeover for your ceiling. If a chandelier seems like an expensive option, you can go for affordable choices like a paper lamp or Chinese lantern.

Go Indian with the curtains

Celebrate the finesse of Indian fabric and change your curtains for an immediate lift. A mix of Chanderi curtains with a decoration of raw silk can light up even the most boring houses. And the fact that they allow a whole more light is like a bonus. Make cushions covers from old silk sarees. And go even bolder – How about a raw silk table cloth, table mats and runners?

Light up traditions

Ditch the modern-day scented candles and opt for traditional diyas instead for a different experience.

Decorate the diyas on your own, and if you are missing the scent, add some scented oils to the diyas. Complete the look with LED string lights, and some bold-coloured statement lanterns. A mix of traditional and modern can make your house look wow and guests go aww.

Flowers and more

Marigolds are perfect for festive home decoration. The more the merrier! Use them to decorate the doors, staircases, balconies, and of course, the entryways. Add some rose, lotus and ‘bandanwar’ made up of mango leaves, and the house will speak of the festive spirit around.

A traditional bowl with a few jasmines and rose petals floating around near the doorway – pure heaven!

Unwrap those gifts from last year

Do you still have gifts from last year’s festive season lying around unwrapped? Perhaps, now is the time to unwrap and see what can be done with them. From finally using that dinner set that has been lying around for eternity to wrapping some of the gifts for recycling this year, nothing screams festival as much as an array of wrapped gifts lying around.

Decorate Temple

The pooja room/ temple are the most ideal location to decorate your home at Diwali. Laxmi pooja is the major part of Diwali and it takes place in a temple. You can decorate the temple with flower arrangements, such as roses, marigolds, and mogras. Write ‘ShubhLabh’ with KumKum on the white paper and keep it near the Lakshmi idol or photo.

Indulge in aromatherapy

Take your home interior-game up a notch by indulging in décor that caters to all the senses of your body. While making your home visually appealing, it is equally important to enhance it with a refreshing scent, lingering through the rooms and corridors. You can either opt for pretty potpourri bowls placed strategically in every room or use scented candles with a gorgeous candle stand to add an element of drama. Additionally, you can choose from a variety of fragrances – from aqua scents to floral perfumes – to refresh your mind, body and soul. Scented candles and potpourri can be placed in any room of your house, creating an aromatic envelope of love and warmth wherever you are. They also add to the look and feel of your home because of their elegant packaging and spectrum of colours. You can also try placing flat candles in a shallow bowl of water and watch the reflections dance with the flames.

Remember, whatever you do to decorate your home for the festive season should reflect your taste and style. Festivals are all about celebrations. Don’t get too stressed about decorating your home.

Just enjoy the whole process and make sure you are enjoying every bit of the festive season.

ACCENT DECORATIONS EVERY HOME NEEDS

Accents & decorations are an important part of creating a beautiful, welcoming, and personal home! Here are 13 accents/ decorations EVERY home needs. Make sure you use all the decor accessories on today’s list in your home! A must-read!

How about a few TRAYS?

We LOVE trays! They can be used to serve food, use as a bed tray, stash books and magazines in, and more! They are our favourite home decor accessory because they are so versatile!

My favourite way to use trays is to create pretty themes in them! Right now I have one tray with shells in my living room, a tray of flowers in the dining room, and gorgeous tray of candles in my drawing room.

Candles, Candle Holders, Tea Lights and Lanterns

Candle and candlesticks are not just for late-night dinners. They are fabulous accents you can add to your decor to give your home a layer of WOW!

I like to add them to trays, put them in bookshelves or on side tables.

Candles add much needed height to our flat surface furnishings!

PILLOWS as accessories

Pillows are like room jewelry! Immediate shine and show.

They can be used on sofas, chairs, beds, and even peeking out of baskets.

Make sure you read A CASUAL PILLOW ARRANGEMENT YOU SHOULD TRY and 5 NO FAIL PILLOW ARRANGEMENTS. What an easy way to arrange pillows on a sofa!

Try THROWS for the winters

Throws add color, texture and so much “pretty”. Every room (except bathrooms and kitchens) needs the softness and fluff of a throw! Think of them as essential decor!

A little tip… use a throw over a chair, bed, and/or sofa you are not crazy about and it seems to make the offending furniture look far less offensive!

And a throw is a fabulous way to add an accent color! Choose throws with different weights, textures, and feel.

Here’s a pretty and helpful post about 6 WAYS TO STYLE A THROW

Vases and Planters are essential in décor

So many types to choose from – Small, tall, round, wide-mouth, glass, ceramic, and more! They are an important part of any home decorating!

Think beyond holding flowers and twigs and leaves. Yes, they are great at that but they can also stand alone as an object d’ art!

Collect a well-curated stash of vases to use in every room!

Bowls and Dishes for every room

Don’t overlook another fabulous collectible – dishware. Choose pretty decorative bowls or plates to add a bit of color to your room. Also, you can get a little wild and decorative dishware that does not necessarily blend into the rest of your decor, causing a bit of much needed visual tension in a room.

See how to make this PRETTY AND EASY CENTERPIECE using a gold tone bowl.

FLOWERS – Real and Faux

Flowers are gorgeous things and add immediate charm to a room. If you don’t have access to the real thing, think about finding a very realistic faux. Here’s my rule, if you cannot tell if something is real or faux from one foot away then the faux is fabulous! I love organic moss balls and use them to fill bowls for a pretty look! You can create them yourself and they are so easy to make. See the TEXTURED MOSS BALL DIY HERE.

MIRRORS add light and brightness

I think every room in your home deserves a mirror! They are magical, adding extra light and an artful element to any room.

We usually use large mirrors but forget small ones. And they can add so much interest to a wall or bookshelf!

Shape is very important when choosing a mirror. You might want to “mirror” shapes in your room. For example, if you have a round coffee table you might want to add a round mirror to the wall.

I particularly love mirrors grouped together on a wall. They fill up a wall like a big mirror and are so interesting!

We often don’t think of them as accent decorations for your home, but they are!

Accent LAMPS

We love love accent lamps. They are useful and add tons of beauty/ interest and height to a room!

Think floor lamps, table lamps, task lamps, accent lamps, and more!

Here’s my take on lighting. I don’t like to spend tons on this accessory. There are so many really well-made, designer-style lamps in the market today. But here’s where I will spend an extra Rupee or two… on the shade!

A cheap shade will give your accent lamp away! Spend a bit and get a great lampshade that is a little larger than you think you need.

DECORATIVE BASKETS & BOXES ARE A DECOR MUST

We must admit we have quite a weakness for baskets! They are full of texture and can be the best decor items to stash lots of things away and out of sight!

I use them to put pillows in and as a container for plants. There are so many uses for baskets!Go for baskets with interesting textures, designs, weaves, and shapes!

SMALL PICTURE FRAMES ARE DECOR ESSENTIALS

Family pictures in small and cute frames add so much warmth to the decor!

Pictures help you create memories of the growth and memorable times of your family.

There you go! Lots of home decor accessory ideas and lots of our favourites!

Use this post to look over every room in your home to see if you are taking advantage of these decor essentials and using them to create beauty in your home.

Neighbor’s envy, owner’s pride. Remember this old Onida TV ad with the green devil? We all do.

These days Wagma’s mission is to build Instagram-worthy homes that cause the neighbors to turn green with envy, and the owner to swell with pride.

Let’s first tackle the Living Room (or Drawing Room as they are often called in India) and the Kitchen. What are the key attributes of a good design? How can we achieve aesthetics while maintaining functionality?

After all, a family spends the maximum time in these 2 spaces.

LIVING ROOMS

A living room is the soul of your home. That’s why you must never leave a stone unturned when it comes to living room decor. The thought of living room furniture and decor may overwhelm you but not if you put a plan together. From the paint, accessories, furniture to their arrangement — there are so many options to choose. You will never run out of options!

To make the process easier, you could start by identifying your decor preferences / styles – Modern, Classic, Traditional, Farm, Casual, Formal etc. For instance, for a modern living room, you will have to ensure a clean and mostly empty space with a few eye-catching accessories.

Take a look at these tips to explore useful ideas for living room furniture decor.

Arrange The Furniture Well

Often, we are stuck with a basic living room decor challenge — arranging the furniture. Not having a plan also adds to our misery. We end up randomly arranging the sofa or just placing chairs without fixing a spot.

Try a few different placements and arrangements, stand back and see the whole room in a wide view. And let each arrangement stand for a day to really feel how it looks.

Layer up the Living Room Decor with Rugs

Whether it’s winter or any other season of the year, the magic of rugs never dies down. Thanks to their plush prints, therapeutic textures and soul-soothing fabrics, they appeal to both homeowners and guests. Most importantly, rugs lift the vibe of your living room and reveal your taste.

On that note, get a rich rug, either custom-made or from your favorites art house, and see it unravel some magic right there in your living room.

Choose Statement Furniture

While you might choose a normal coffee table or ottoman for your living room, it wouldn’t have much of an impact. We suggest choosing a rather abstract coffee table and a piece of contemporary side furniture that breaks the monotony of your living room.

Throw Some Bold Contrast into the Furniture

Want to do something different in your living room? Break the theme. Place a modern, plush wing chair or set up indie wallpaper in the background to revitalize your living room. Go Bold.

KITCHENS

Any Indian home you visit, the kitchen is the centre of creation – Food, Beauty, Health, Joy and Nurturing.

Our kitchens are where we cook, eat, entertain and socialise, so it’s important to create a kitchen design that ticks all these boxes – and more. For a busy family home, a fitted kitchen is a bespoke solution that will offer fantastic functionality and streamline the space to make the most of every inch. Renovating a kitchen is a smart bet for increasing the value of your home, so that beautiful kitchen island could turn into a great investment for the future.

Ready to get started? Browse through our kitchen ideas galleries below to see a huge range of styles or narrow your search to modern kitchens, traditional kitchens or country kitchens if you’ve got your heart set on a specific look.

Colors – A Powerful Tool in Interior Design

Colour psychology is used widely in branding and marketing but it is also a powerful interior design tool that has more impact on the mood of a room than any other factor.

Have you ever wondered why you feel so energised after stepping into a royal purple room scheme or so peaceful when in a beautifully neutral living space? It’s because of colour psychology in interior design, closely connecting colour to our emotions and feelings.

Different shades conjure various emotions so when debating on which hues to choose for your home it’s key to think about the kind of atmosphere you want to create and which colour will help you achieve this.

Whether you’re looking to add occasional bursts of colour or decorate your entire room from top to bottom, discover the emotional effects of colour in interior design in our round-up of colourful projects below.

But before that, let’s have some fun with color. What do we think of or how do we feel when we see a particular color?

White – Purity
Black – Authority
Pink – Love
Red – Love, romance, energy
Yellow – Happiness
Blue – Calmness
Green – Nature, money
Grey – Practical
Orange – Enthusiasm
Purple – Royalty
Brown – Stability

PINK

Terribly underused as a colour only to be used for little girls’ rooms, pink is a delicate hue which speaks of nurture, love and femininity. It’s tones are comforting making it a favourite for bedrooms, but it can easily be transferred to living room schemes if executed well. Give the colour a chance by opting for refreshing patterns and classic yet fuss-free furniture shapes.

BLUE

Blue is one of the strongest hues of the colour spectrum. Deep, bold hues, such as navy and royal blue, are great for evoking confidence and are associated with admirable qualities such as loyalty, trust, peace and success.

Lighter shades of the colour install a feeling of calm and tranquility at home which makes them great for bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces where you want to relax.

BLACK

Black is the go-to colour of all time in all aspects of life. Whether you don’t know what to wear or what colour of furniture to opt for, black’s neutrality gives it a fail-safe quality and promises sophistication.

It’s a proven accent colour but when used heavily in a room scheme, the psychology of this colour results in power, drama and mystery.

PURPLE

Purple is ROYAL. It looks right at home in feminine spaces, such as a pretty bedroom scheme, but deeper versions of the hue can also be incredibly masculine.

It also suggests luxury. Think about using it in a dressing room to create a truly special getting-ready destination or let it take over your entrance hallway to impress guests at the first opportunity.

YELLOW

It’s no surprise that yellow is connected with joy, optimism and energy. Whether it’s mustard, lemon or baby yellow, the hue is always unmistakably vibrant.

Playful yellow shades make a perfect match for children’s bedrooms and nurseries, but the colour can also be grown-up and works in practically any room you want it to.

Like so many bright tones, it can be tricky to make work in a room from top to bottom, but statement yellow furniture and bold yellow accessories make for beautiful styling.

Stick with golden shades and utilise the colour in darkened areas of your home to bring a feeling of light and space into action.

GREEN

Green is an extremely positive hue as it reminds of balance and growth. It immediately brings the natural world to mind and it’s an incredible way to bring a refreshing nature indoors, especially if your home is located in a city with little surrounding greenery.

The hue comes in a variety of attractive shades, ranging from emerald and jade to olive and lime. It makes an ideal wall colour in spaces where you need to open your mind such as kitchens and home studies, and, as it’s closely linked to money, it’s a sensible choice for business properties.

GREY

Grey is a versatile colour that can take on a range of personalities. This colour denotes security, intelligence and solidity.

It also adds a feeling of calm and composure—a quality that’s ideal for family homes with excitable children. It can be soft and delicate or strong and confident.

RED

Red is one of the most dramatic hues in the colouring book and one of the most enticing colours when it comes to rousing emotions. It’s often coupled with sentiments such as passion, excitement and energy.

Red can be a productive choice for home offices and creative spaces.

Red has many sister forms including tomato red, crimson and burgundy. Play around with red, It’s fun.

Our extensive Design experience and dedicated team of Professional Interior Decorators make us well poised to emerge as the Famous Home Office Interior Designers in Delhi NCR!

A lot of times, we cannot afford the Best Interior Designers in Delhi NCR to do the interior of our homes. That is when the owners of the house take up the challenge and plan to do the decor of the house themselves. If the truth be told, if you are on the creative side, then doing the interior decor of your home all by yourself is not a hard task. However, if you are not very creative but still short of funds, you may need little external help to ensure the task is done right.

So, what exactly should be done if you are really low on the budget?

Firstly, you need to give your room a good look and analyze what are the things that you honestly want to change. Is it just a single room or is it the entire house right from the scratch? If it is just a single room, the task is going to be easier and you can carry it out all on your own. However, in case you feel that your entire place looks worn out and needs a fresh look then you may think on hiring some freelancer or an Interior Design Company in Delhi NCR to help you with the job.

Secondly, you need to know that there are two different types of Residential Interior Designers in Delhi NCR . One are those who do the designing of the home all by themselves and the other who just make a map or a layout of the things that need to be changed and then leave the execution to you. So, in the second type, you will be given a layout, backed with a few budget friendly suggestions. However, the designer will not personally come to supervise or do the job. All of that needs to be done on your own. Such designers charge a very minimal and an affordable fee. So, for those low on budget and wanting to do the decor right from the scratch there is no better solution than this.

Even after you have a plan all laid out, some of you may be able to do it all on the own while others may still require help. For that you can hire some daily wagers and you can yourself do the supervision based on the plan. Interesting, isn’t it? Why don’t you give it a try right away?

Happy decorating and renovating.

5 tips to keep your home cozy this winters

This is the season to exchange all your warm-weather linen and furniture for one that is far more appropriate for the colder months. You might love your light and airy fabrics, but you’ll be reaching for something to make your room feel comfortable when the first taste of winter rolls inside. There are a variety of functional and pretty options to make your home comfortable this season, from pillows and throws and plush warm fabrics to heaters and fireplaces.

There is absolutely no need for a full redesign of your furniture and décor, but we appreciate your loyalty to the seasons. Winterizing your home can be achieved without investing thousands of dollars per season on a renovation in just a few easy measures. Wagma Designs, Best Interior Design Company in Gurgaon has five steps you can take, all winter and year long, to keep your home cozy.

Get new bedding

Wagma Designs suggests that it can be as practical to adjust your bedding for the colder months as it can be a welcome cosmetic upgrade. You can swap your jet pillow covers for fluffy velvet covers and exchange your thin blanket for a smooth, silky faux fur jet that looks good all season long and keeps you warm. Switching color schemes can also improve. It can’t hurt a colder and darker range of covers, but most importantly, you need to think about your comforter. The thin quilt may have worked for the summer months, but winter is here. To keep you warm, upgrade to a down comforter that’s going to do all the work. This all-season award-winning version has a filling capacity of 700, which means it’s thick and fluffy enough to battle even the toughest winters.

Install Fireplace

Sometimes, the central heat just won’t cut it. Whether it’s a draught, it’s a lofty room, or you’re just particularly sensitive to the bite of winter, you might need a little extra to take the pressure off. A portable fireplace or heater is just going to do a trick. Although it’s not going to replace the central system, it will easily warm up a small room and give you an open fire vibe of roasting chestnuts. Although your aesthetics will not be suited to a portable heater, this fireplace is definitely not. It looks like the fire is floating because of its sleek and sexy glass box style. Not only does this ventilated ethanol fireplace design provide a nice view of the blaze, but it also warms up space like a traditional fireplace would do. It’s self-contained, so wherever you go, the fireplace will follow you.

Add mood lighting

Not only does this trick work throughout the winter, but throughout the year. Switching up your lighting will make the room cozier immediately, no matter the outside temperature. There are almost infinite possibilities for generating this mood lighting. Although it may not be for you to keep your Christmas lights up all season long, you can still get the shine. The sophisticated option is to fire your twinkly lights into a cloche, but for something a little more lasting, the ideal solution is to swap your bulbs for warmer LED lights and get shaded lamps to create ambiance. This table lamp is a fantastic choice because it can be relocated at a moment’s notice from room to room, and the shade of the glass globe will help give off the perfect amount of light. For the season, the shiny copper base also gives it a festive touch.

Build a cozy little nook.

This time of year, it is important to have a good place to curl up. You’ll need somewhere to bundle yourself up with your seasonal drink of choice and either the remote or a good book after coming in from the cold. A comfortable chair is the pillar of every good nook. In this faux boucle edition, Cocoon yourself. The fabric alone will have you wanting to nestle deep into this seat, and the back and curved arms of the supportive chair just add to the comfortable feeling. With a warm reading lamp above and with a warm faux fur throw and pillow, you can finish your nook. Even if you do not use this chair to create a separate nook, as an accent chair in a larger room, it will be a great addition.

Give warm look to the decor

Much like your clothes during the winter, layering your decor is a trendy and inexpensive way to create a whole new look. You can use your current furniture as a base and stack of accessories, ideally in this season, fabrics such as velvet and faux fur. Buying a bunch of new pillows and adding them to your existing set just makes it more lustrous and comfortable. You can do the same by tossing blankets and even candles to get the smell of the season blowing around you. One of the most modern ways to make this look happen is by layering rugs. This trendy concept positions the shag or higher-pile rug, generally in a smaller or different shape, on top of the lower-pile version. This time of year, make your top rug a shaggy sheepskin that adds texture and warmth to any room. It’s going to be like stepping into a Swiss chalet.
